We've known for a decade or more that local newspapers were an endangered species. Their death throes have been so embarrassing and counter-productive (Gannett happy talk, anyone?) that sometimes we found ourselves wishing it would happen faster. Creative destruction and all that. But nothing substantial is replacing local news yet, so The New York Times offers a tool to find Covid infection and death statistics, plus overall risk levels, in your county. That's right. Every county in America.
